Hi friends, I’m Alex! I am from the Twin Cities area and attended medical school in Des Moines. I’m currently an emergency medicine resident at Regions (aka the best residency). Outside of work, I am an avid couch potato, joined by my 2 children (cats) and husband. But when peeled away from my beloved nest, I thoroughly enjoy exploring the outdoors, refurbishing furniture, tending to my indoor garden, and finding great food/ drinks at local dives.
My medical interests permeate many areas of EM, including advocacy/ legislation, education, social EM, quality improvement, and prehospital care. I became interested in FOAMed during medical school when I found traditional journal articles challenging to navigate, especially when they tackled complex topics that were still beyond my level of training. As a member of the Regions RAP team, I hope to help make high-quality, clinically relevant education more accessible, engaging, and approachable for learners at all levels.
